The club is also sometimes called Mersin İdmanyurdu, they are nicknamed Kırmızı Şeytanlar (Red Devils), they play in red and blue jerseys, with vertical stripes in these colours and the shorts are white. The founding of the club dates back to 1925 when it was established in the Turkish city of Mersin.
