The traditional Glasgow club has been nicknamed in several ways, namely The Gers, The Light Blues and The Teddy Bears. The club's traditional rivals are Celtic, a rivalry with religious and political overtones. Their main rival is Dundee United, who have a stadium only 300 yards away and also currently play in the lower league. The team colours are dark blue and white.
