Calcio Catania

The history of the Italian club Calcio Catania dates back to 1929, when they managed to play in the top Italian league. Here, their best finish was eighth position, which they achieved several times, most recently in the 2012/2013 season. However, after the following season, the team was relegated to Italy's third league, Serie C, due to a corruption scandal where they were supposed to buy games for keeps.

Their club colours are white and black, which is also related to their other well-known nickname bianconeri (white and black). Their home is Juventus Stadium, which is currently called Allianz Stadium for sponsorship reasons. It is a modern stadium that was built in 2011 and has a capacity of 41,507 seats. Until then, the club played at the former Stadio delle Alpi.
