Due to their attractive style of play, they were called Breisgau-Brasilianer, i.e. Breisgau Brazilians, in the early 1990s. This was at the time of their first entry into the Bundesliga. The club colours are red and black. Their local rivalry is with VfB Stuttgart.

SpVgg Unterhaching is a German football team based in Unterhaching, a suburb of Munich. The club was founded in 1925 and plays its home games at the Sportpark Unterhaching, which has a capacity of around 15,000 spectators. Although they are not as famous as their neighboring giants FC Bayern Munich or TSV 1860 Munich, SpVgg Unterhaching has carved out its own niche in German football history.
