The club, whose colours include blue and yellow and which has a stylised lion's head in its emblem, was founded in 1928, then still under the name FC Sochaux. Based in the town of Montbéliard near the Swiss border, the home stand at the Stade Auguste Bonal comfortably accommodates twenty thousand spectators.
