San Jose Earthquakes, a California soccer team, was founded in 1994, but at the time it was still called the San Jose Clash. The renaming took place in 1999, and it was such a return of the Earthquakes to the city, as a club of that name had already played soccer in San Jose in the 1970s and 1980s.
More about San Jose EarthquakesArguably the most famous MLS team outside the US, it is one of the ten founding teams of the league. Los Angeles Galaxy are based in Carson, where they have a 27,000-seat stadium, Dignity Health Sports Park. The team has become very famous outside of the US borders with a number of big soccer stars transferring to the team.
