Arguably the most famous MLS team outside the US, it is one of the ten founding teams of the league. Los Angeles Galaxy are based in Carson, where they have a 27,000-seat stadium, Dignity Health Sports Park. The team has become very famous outside of the US borders with a number of big soccer stars transferring to the team.
More about Los Angeles GalaxySan Jose Earthquakes, a California soccer team, was founded in 1994, but at the time it was still called the San Jose Clash. The renaming took place in 1999, and it was such a return of the Earthquakes to the city, as a club of that name had already played soccer in San Jose in the 1970s and 1980s.
