The jerseys of the Polish national football team are red and white, hence their nickname, the Red and Whites. Dressed in their national colours, the Poles played their first international match in 1921. The team is managed by the Polish Football Association, which is the governing body of Polish football. Poland have played in eight World Cups in competitions organised by FIFA, where they made their first appearance in 1938, eventually being knocked out by Brazil.
More about PolandSouth American Argentina is one of those countries where football means everything. Also, occasional football watchers will probably be familiar with the name Diego Maradona, who is still a bit of a quirky figure in Argentine football today, if only from the stands. But Argentina has a whole host of other famous names. Argentina's national team play in a combination of light blue and white national colours, and the Antonio Vespucio Liberti stadium is used for their home matches. Argentina's men's A team falls under the Argentine Football Association.
