The club was founded in 2005 by disenchanted supporters of Manchester United in the wake of Malcolm Glazer's controversial takeover, which led to a group of fans desiring a team that would better reflect their views and commitment to local community values.

Hyde United FC
Hyde United FC have been playing football since 1919, with Ewen Fields hosting over 4,000 spectators for home games. The club colours for home games are red and black, away games are played in a combination of yellow and black. The team was even at one time sponsored by the famous big club Manchester City, thanks to which the club did not suffer financial ruin.
