Their nickname is The Gunners. And they're the real cannoneers because they're the third most successful club in the Premier League. Kanons are also in their crest. Their club colours are red and white. Their home stadium is Ashburton Grove, but for sponsorship reasons it is currently called Emirates Stadium. It has a capacity of 60,361 spectators, making it the third largest stadium in England and the fourth largest in the United Kingdom.
The rivalry between the clubs is traditionally local, so for Arsenal the biggest long-term rival is Tottenham Hotspur and the so-called North London derby is played between them. The derby's name, of course, derives from the fact that both clubs are based in north London. The other rivals are Chelsea, Fulham and West Ham. There has also been an ever-growing rivalry with Manchester United since the late 1980s, mainly due to their mutual title battles.
Arsenal was founded in 1886, then under the name Dial Square FC. It was then renamed Royal Arsenal FC in the same year, then Woolwich Arsenal FC in 1893 and the current name was settled in 1914.
Historically, Arsenal is London's most successful club and has won a total of 13 league titles. It has also had the same number of FA Cup triumphs. In the top flight, it holds the record for the highest average finish in the entire 20th century. It is the only club to finish a season without a single loss in 38 games, and that was in the 2003/04 season, which was also Arsenal's last league title. Since then it has finished second and third several times.
