In a thrilling Boxing Day clash, Arsenal FC faced off against West Ham United FC in a match that saw the Gunners clinch a convincing win over their London rivals. The game started with high intensity as both teams looked eager to establish dominance early on.

Arsenal thought they had hit the ground running in the 5th minute when Edward Nketiah found the net, but the celebration was cut short as his goal was disallowed. West Ham's Jarrod Bowen received a yellow card just three minutes later, setting the tone for a competitive first half.

The Hammers were presented with a golden opportunity in the 27th minute when they were awarded a penalty. Said Benrahma stepped up, but to the dismay of the visiting fans, the spot-kick did not translate into a goal. Arsenal's Martin Ødegaard suffered a similar fate as his penalty in added time at the end of the first half was also cancelled, leaving both sides level at the break.

As play resumed, it was Arsenal who came out stronger. Bukayo Saka broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute with a well-taken finish. Not long after, in the 58th minute, Gabriel Martinelli doubled the lead with another sensational goal, giving the Gunners a comfortable cushion.

Edward Nketiah, who had been denied earlier in the match, finally got his name on the score sheet with a brilliant goal in the 69th minute, further extending Arsenal's lead. With the game slipping away from West Ham, both teams made strategic substitutions. Kieran Tierney entered the fray for Arsenal at the 73-minute mark, and West Ham introduced Tomas Souček five minutes later, followed by Michail Antonio in the 87th minute. Arsenal also used this time to manage their lead, with Martinelli making way in the 88th minute and Thomas Partey joining in stoppage time to see out the game.

Arsenal's solid performance and clinical finishing ensured that they walked away victorious. The result was a testament to their resilience and attacking prowess, sending a strong message to their rivals as they look to continue their momentum in the league. West Ham, on the other hand, left the pitch reflecting on what could have been if those crucial penalties had been converted.
